History

Benton Heating & Cooling Inc. was founded in 1962 by Jennings Benton as the first Heating & Cooling Contractor in the Myrtle Beach area. Prior to that, Jennings had owned and operated an appliance store, that serviced the community in home appliances. Moving into the Heating & Cooling Industry was a natural change for Jennings to make as people started realizing the benefits of effective, efficient Heating & Cooling.

For many years, Myrtle Beach was an area the was seasonal at best. It was said the day after labor day , "Myrtle Beach rolled up the sidewalks, and stored them away until they could unroll them the next memorial day". The handful of "LOCALS" , would then be able to relax and enjoy their beach in quite. The boulevard was empty, and the majority of hotels and restaurants would completely close for the winter.

Benton Heating & Cooling Inc. was founded as a family owned business, and still is . It is one of the few still in existence today in the Myrtle Beach and surrounding areas.

Being the first, Benton Heating & Cooling has had the opportunity to work with many product lines over the years. They have represented, at one time or another, almost every heating and cooling product in the industry.

Benton Heating & Cooling Inc., has also had one other effect on the Heating and Cooling Industry in the Grand Strand Area. Many of the Independent Heating and Cooling Contractors in the Grand Stand Area , got their start by working for Benton Heating & Cooling Inc.ing , before branching out on their own.

Today, its' hard to find a company you can call on and rely on for quality service , with most of the service industry being absorbed by major companies, many customers are feeling like numbers, Since 1962 , Benton Heating & Cooling has been providing it's customers with Service, just as if you were one of our neighbors.
